A small group of engineers and systems tinkerers who believe your data, your communications, and your tools should belong to you — not a corporation.
Selfhosted Sovereignty exists because most people and organizations are handing their infrastructure, their communications, and their workflows to a handful of corporations — often without realizing it or considering the alternatives.
We believe open-source software has matured to the point where individuals and small teams can run their own mail servers, chat systems, file storage, code repositories, and more — without needing an enterprise IT team to do it.
Our job is to close the gap between that capability and the people who haven't had the time, confidence, or guidance to get there yet. We build it, document it, and hand you the keys.
"Sovereignty is not a luxury. It's the default you're owed — and the one most people have been talked out of."
— Selfhosted Sovereignty
Your data should live where you put it and go where you tell it. Not replicated across data centers you've never agreed to.
Every tool we recommend, deploy, or build is open-source. You can inspect it, fork it, and run it without our involvement.
We document what we build, explain the tradeoffs we make, and don't obscure our work behind proprietary wrappers.
The goal of every engagement is to leave you more capable, not more dependent. We'd rather teach than be needed forever.
Encryption, minimal data collection, and sensible defaults. We don't build surveillance infrastructure by another name.
We contribute back where we can. Our configs, runbooks, and automations are shared openly under permissive licenses.
A small, distributed group of engineers. Bios and more detail coming soon. Find us on Matrix or Forgejo in the meantime.

We occasionally work with skilled individuals on specific projects. If you share our values and want to collaborate, get in touch.
Selfhosted Sovereignty is an informal freelance collective. We operate as individuals. Contracts, NDAs, and formal invoices are available on request for larger engagements.
We're relatively early in putting this name to our work. Our portfolio reflects real infrastructure we built and run — not case studies. We'd rather be honest about where we are than oversell.
We're a small team. We're selective. We'll be honest if we can't help you.
